Domain names can cost as little as $2. But if they’re highly desirable, they can be sold for millions.
We collaborated with DN Journal and put together a list of the 20 most expensive domains in the world.
Not surprisingly, most have to do with sex and gambling, the two biggest money-makers online.
Just because these were purchased for tons of money doesn’t mean that they get tons of traffic. Many of the sites don’t even rank on Quantcast or Comscore. Unless the plan is to buy and hold (which in most cases, it is), many of these purchases seem like huge wastes of money.
