The work is progressing on schedule which allows us today to re-adjust the rollout calendar:
- Thursday, November 15th 2007: switch to permanent registration. Reload will remain set at 6.30 on working days, but processing will become permanent, 24/7 (excluding the maintenance slot).
- Tuesday, November 27th 2007 (initially scheduled on December 3rd): switch to the permanently open chain with five publications per day.
- Some adjustments may be made within one month after this date.
In addition, following the opinions gathered during the consultation committees, it seems wise to offer a minimum of protection around the deletion procedure. Starting November 15th, a deleted domain name will not be able to be registered for the next 24 hours by another registrar.
The domain will appear available in the Whois and other check tools but the form will answer the following error message [domain_deleted_today] as it is already the case today after a deletion request.
During this 24 hours period the registrar who initiated the deletion will be able to create the domain name again by sending a creation form.
